While I was at camp today, I got a big surprise…Uncle Tim came to get me while mom was at work. What a day!!! I love Uncle Tim.

1Grandma’s Birthday Extravaganza!

Last weekend we celebrated like we have never celebrated before!!! Grandma and Grandpa came to Jersey City to visit Mom and Uncle TIm what a weekend. It all started with a visit to the Westin where they were staying, I made myself at home on Grandma’s bed. Then we headed home to get a good night’s sleep. Friday I went to camp, and the fam went to Mom’s work - I heard that they saw a neat park called the High Line that was beautiful, lots of flower picture taking…but no dogs allowed :(
Saturday Mom and Uncle Tim spent some of the day prepping for Sunday’s Festivities, and then we went out to grab a burger at the White Horse Tavern - i got my own special waterbowl, got to sit with Grandma during dinner, and got a blue cheese burger! boy was it good. then I got to hang out with Aunt Melissa - she is so fun…we went to the park with Uncle Eric, and then came home and played. What a fun night - I heard that the family had a fun time too. They saw Wicked!
On Sunday, what a day. I was pooped. We went to Middletown. It is very green. I met a lot of Grandma’s friends, they came and had brunch that Mom and Uncle Tim made. Everyone LOVED uncle Tim’s chicken salad. I spent most of the time outside playing ball, that was fine by me. But after a while i came up onto the deck and hung out with everyone.
Monday, Mom and Uncle Tim took me to camp so that they could take Grandma and Grampa to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty - I think they had a good time. They were joined by the nice people in Middletown - “the Z’s”.
I think overall Grandma had a nice time. boy do i like those fingernails…I told mom we should go visit them again soon.

The BEACH!

This was a beautiful day in NJ, Melissa and I decided to take a treck to the Asbury Park 8th Avenue Dog beach. What a fun day. I was concerned Odie would be nervous near the waves, because he has never been near the Ocean before, and experts say its good to expose dogs to various different experiences when they are a couple months old so they aren’t fearful. Well having gotten Odie in September, heading right into winter we didn’t get to the beach. Well looks like the worrying was for naught :)

For the past month, Odie has been going to Camp at K9dergarten. It is puppy daycare, where he gets so tired out playing with his pals all day long, when he gets home he is zonked. It’s great to have him go there, and what I love the most is that every day they post pictures on Facebook and Odie is in them. It’s a little like “Where’s Waldo” when I look through them. There is one trick Odie that kind of looks like him but he is smaller and a little blonder, but then I see that curly tail and smile and I know its him. If you arent friends with them already definitely like them and you can see what Odie is up to every day :)

Today was a very exciting day! I went to get my hair done and played at K9dergarten, and went to the dog park and played with Christy, Bo and Twinkie. Then we headed over to Wayne St and Jersey Ave to see Uncle Tim at his new apartment. What a pretty place. The best part was that I got to see where I would be spending my time when Mom is out of town. Uncle Tim has a great new railroad apartment just 2 blocks from our place. It has beautiful hardwood floors, and really big windows. Uncle Tim seems really happy in his new place, and I feel right at home.

While it is hard to leave my little fuzzball each day, it does my heart good to know that he is in such capable hands. This is a photo of Odie taking his afternoon walk with BB the beagle and Odie. Christy the dog walker takes Odie on walks with BB on a regular basis. BB is an older beagle that is calm and helps Odie practice walking on a leash. Such a smart way to help socialize him and keep him on the right path for training. I love that Odie has such a nice little network of friends that he sees every day when I’m not home. I had never met BB in person before, and one morning Odie saw him and ran up to him to say hi. It just warms my heart to know that he has such a full little life when I’m not around.

This cone thing is really getting old, we are halfway through though. Odie doesn’t have to wear his cone when he eats, or when we go for walks, but he still tries to go for his stitches whenever left alone for too long and not distracted by the great outdoors or dinner. So he has it on for most of the time when we are home. Which makes for a lot of running into things. We try to pass the time (and energy) with a lot of fetch in the football field nearby and thinking/training games in the house. We have perfected sit, down, rollover, and come. Have added some new ones to the repertoire - up, off, and paw. It’s pretty fun and he gets worn out pretty fast. Today we ventured to the dog park and while nervous about his stitches, it was so awesome to see him playing. He is such a good boy, such a nice dog to both people and puppies. The little dogs always seem to have to take him down in some manner. He generally enters the park, and in less than five seconds is on his back, but then the little dogs just continue to go at him and try and take him down. He typically doesn’t mind but those little dogs have a thing for that cheek fur, and his ears.
We are taking it slow easing back into the park, but today was a good Odie day, back to see his friends again - he was a happy puppy.

Uncle George has gone through a lot in the past couple of months. He has lost weight, he has had his space invaded, he has been secluded to bed and countertops. But this weekend he decided to bless me with his presence. Odie was sleeping and George made his way up to my lap. Luckily I had my camera with me and caught these lovely close ups of this beautiful kitty.

Well, it’s been two days since Odie has been neutered. While being diligent about his cone indoors, it seems like when he is distracted by all the fluffy white stuff outside, he doesn’t need his cone. Although he is supposed to lay low because of his operation (how do you get a puppy to lay low) this makes for a great way to get out that extra energy.
Seems like he is doing ok :)
